The Association was established in 2002. All republican aquaculture companies are the members of the Association. Members of the Association own 10,600 ha of fishponds where 2,500 tones of marketable live fish and 1,100 tones of young fish are farmed. Moreover, the companies are engaged in growing of marketable organic fish, which could be exported. Young fish is supplied to fish farming amateurs.

Ms Edita Brukstuviene, the Chairperson of the association, has been elected for two years period. Mrs Vytautas Andriuskevicius is the Managing Director of the association.
