PROJECT “PRODUCER ORGANIZATION ACTIVITIES” IMPLEMENTED IN 2004-2007
(Contract No. BPD2004-ZOFI-4.10.3-01-04/0/0001 as of 1 July 2004)
 
         Under the project, the Association as a Producer Organization implemented the following measures:
       • event “Pond Days” was organized, it was attended by the employees of enterprises and scientists from Lithuania and Belarus, who introduced reports on fish farming and fish diseases.
         • Tours organized, the Institute of Fisheries of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and fishery enterprises were visited.
         Up to EUR 14 481 (i.e. 100 percent) of all eligible costs of the project were allocated for the implementation of the project.
         Project had been implemented from 1 July 2004 to 26 July 2007.
 
PROJECT “ADVERTISING OF AQUACULTURE AND ITS ORGANIC PRODUCTS, SEARCHING FOR NEW MARKETS, IMPROVEMENT OF THE IMAGE OF FISHERY AND ITS ASSOCIATED STRUCTURES” IMPLEMENTED IN 2009-2010
(Contract No. 3KOL-0-08-1 as of 2 October 2009)

         Aim of the project – to promote the consumption of fishery and aquaculture products, to increase the range of fishery products and improve its image, to promote the search of new markets and to improve marketing tools, to promote organic fishery, and promote the consumption of organic fish products.
         Up to EUR 137 944 (i.e. 100 percent) of all eligible costs of the project were allocated for the implementation of the project.
         Project had been implemented from 2 October 2009 to 28 April 2010.
         By the Project, the following planned advertisements and the public awareness measures of promotional campaigns were implemented:
         • Calendar for 2009 with fish recipes was published.
         • Three types of leaflets and three types of flyers on ecological fishery and value of fish products, two types of booklets “Aquaculture in Lithuania” were published.
         • 2 (two) one-day conferences “The Benefits of Fish Products to Human Health and Promotion of Their Consumption” and “Development of Aquaculture. Perspectives for Raising New Fish Species and Application of Modern Technologies”.
         • 24 outsourced articles were printed in the periodical press, 10 radio and 10 television shows broadcasted.
         • DVD movie about Lithuanian aquaculture was created.
         • Logo of the Association has been created.
      
PROJECT “PROMOTION OF THE COOPERATION RELATIONS OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF AQUACULTURE AND FISH PRODUCT PRODUCERS WITH EU AND THIRD-COUNTRY FISHERY AND SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTIONS” IMPLEMENTED IN 2009-2011
(Contract No. 3KOL3-0-09-3 as of 30 June 2010)

       In order to create a competitive fishing industry, to encourage joint activities of its representatives, organizations of recognized fishery product producers and other public organizations, as well as to represent the interests of the fishery sector, the following tasks have been implemented by the project:
         • to pursue the improvement of food safety and quality by developing a study of fish diseases common in fishery farms in Lithuania;
         • preparing and publishing a brochure on the enrichment of fodder base for farmed fish;
         • to encourage the partnership between scientists and the fishery sector operators by organizing 3 specialized tours for fishery enterprises and organizations in Poland, Belarus and Ukraine;
         • organizing a conference on fish disease issues, fish farming intensification measures, opportunities for the farming of new perspective fish species with the participation of fishery specialists from the abovementioned countries in Lithuania.
         Up to EUR 86 869 (i.e. 100 percent) of all eligible costs of the project were allocated for the implementation of the project.
         Project had been implemented from 30 June 2010 to 23 March 2011.
 
PROJECT “ASSESSMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF LITHUANIAN INLAND WATER FISH RESOURCE OPERATION AND PLANTING SYSTEM” IMPLEMENTED IN 2012-2013
(Contract No. 3KOL3-0-11-01 as of 24 February 2012)

       Aim of the project – to examine the evaluation and optimization of Lithuanian inland water fish resource operation and planting system. On its base, to prepare optimized recommendations for the further development of fishery in inland waters.
         Result of the project – a complex assessment consisting of the following parts was prepared:
         1. Evaluation of the legal framework and obligations of commercial and amateur fishing;   
         2. Analysis/evaluation of the management and organizational system of the state owned non-leased and leased water ponds in Lithuania;
         3. Analysis and evaluation of planting work volumes, financing volumes and sources of non-leased water ponds in Lithuania in 2000-2010;
         4. Evaluation and forecast of planting works, financing volumes and sources of leased ponds in Lithuania;
         5. Evaluation of the impact of piscicultural works on commercial and recreational fishing;
         6. Evaluation of the impact of piscicultural works on biodiversity and ecosystems, potential genetic changes (by the type of water ponds);
         7. Evaluation of socio-economic effect of piscicultural works;
         8. Evaluation of needs of Lithuanian state-owned non-leased water ponds and water ponds leased by private individuals for pisciculture;
         9. Evaluation of amateur fishing needs;
         10. Determination of the possible sources of the supply and financing of a planting material;
         11. International experience in the practice of using and planting inland water fish resources must be detailed in the inventory prepared by a competent foreign scientific institution;
         12. Performance of the SWOT analysis of the stocking system;
         13. Performance of the evaluation of optimization models of pisciculture system and its SWOT;
         Based on the analysis and evaluations, recommendations were prepared on the application of methods of pisciculture directions and alternative fish resource protection, as well as on the improvement of the financing sources, the legal basis and system of the management of the pisciculture.
         2 two-day interdepartmental seminars were organized, where interim results and discussions of the representatives of organized fishery and pisciculture sector on the possibilities of the development of the sector were presented. Number of participants of seminars 20-30 persons.
        On the basis of the works done, the methodical material prepared for the users of fish resources and, on the basis of it, 3 training seminars for the users of fish resources were carried out in 3 locations of Lithuania. Number of participants of seminars – 15 persons.  
        Whole examination and recommendation material for the adoption of measures was handed over to the Committee on Rural Affairs of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania.
         Up to EUR 145 828 (i.e. 100 percent) of all eligible costs of the project were allocated for the implementation of the project.
         Project had been implemented from 24 February 2012 to 30 December 2013.
         Publication of the results of the project was carried out by the publication of the article in the scientific publication, because this work was of a scientific nature. The publication of the results has also been carried out during 2 planned meetings with various sector representatives and 3 training sessions. In addition, the project was publicized by publishing a public article in the press.
         
PROJECT “QUALIFICATION TRAINING OF THE EMPLOYEES OF AQUACULTURE ENTERPRISES IN BREEDING AND PRODUCING NEW FISH SPECIES IN LITHUANIAN AQUACULTURE PONDS AND CLOSED CIRCULATING CULTIVATION SYSTEMS” IMPLEMENTED IN 2013
(Contract No. EŽF-13-VILKAUDA-03-006 as of 1 July 2013)

        Aim of the project – to strengthen human potential and the competitiveness of aquaculture enterprises by raising the qualification of the employees of Lithuanian aquaculture enterprises in the breeding and raising of trout, sturgeon, zander in aquaculture ponds and closed circulating cultivation systems.
         Up to EUR 15 434 (i.e. 100 percent) of all eligible costs of the project were allocated for the implementation of the project. Project was publicized by publishing an article in the press.
         Project had been implemented from 1 July 2013 to 4 November 2013.                             
         On 18 September 2013, according to the project, a training event “Sturgeon and Zander Breeding and Raising Technologies in Closed (Semi-Closed) Circulating Systems Based on the Experience of the Western Countries” and “Dissemination of Trout Breeding and Raising Technologies and the Practical Experience Accumulated by Poland (Mostly Using Open Water Ponds) for the Employees of Lithuanian Aquaculture Enterprises” was organized. Event was attended by 43 people.
         Also, on 19 September 2013, a practical training event “Practical Introduction, in Production Areas, to Fish Farming in Closed Recirculation Systems Created in the Republic” took place. Trainings were taught by lecturers from Poland, Holland, and Lithuania, who have high qualifications in the field of breeding and raising of these fish. Participants of the event (21 participant) have acquired the necessary qualification for breeding and raising of trout, sturgeon, zander in ponds and in closed circulatory systems.

PROJECT “PRODUCTION AND MARKETING PLAN OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF AQUACULTURE AND FISH PRODUCT PRODUCERS (PRODUCER ORGANIZATION) IMPLEMENTED IN 2014-2018
(Contract No. 66GR-KV-15-1-00027-PR001 as of 1 June 2016)

         Aim of the project – to carry out the approved production and marketing plan of the National Association of Aquaculture and Fish Product Producers (Producer Organization) for 2015-2017 at the lowest possible costs, to supply aquaculture products for the market according to the schedule and to receive the estimated revenue by increasing the value added of a part of the products and without a negative impact on the environment.
         Project is needed to integrate the members of the Producer Organization for joint activities in order to achieve the main expected results, which would ensure the viability of the members of the Producer Organization, and it would be possible to assess the level of results achieved by the Producer Organization in the production of aquaculture products and their realization.
          Up to EUR 141 936 (i.e. 75 percent) of all eligible costs of the project were allocated for the implementation of the project. Project had been implemented from 2014 to 30 May 2018.
          Project provides for the implementation of the following measures:
       • To prepare and implement scientific and technical campaigns to improve knowledge of fish species and the environmental impact of the aquaculture and to promote the development of sustainable aquaculture practices;
         • To effectively participate in the activities of various relevant aquaculture institutions at national, regional, European and international levels;
         • To participate in the preparation of national strategic plans;
         • To participate in the development of fodder traceability procedures;
         • To establish markets for the sale of aquaculture products and mediate when supplying the products of producer organization members to the market;
         • To participate in fairs and exhibitions at national, European and international levels in order to promote aquaculture products of the members of the producer organization;
         • To develop and implement campaigns to promote aquaculture products.

         Aim of the project – to carry out the approved production and marketing plan of the National Association of Aquaculture and Fish Product Producers (Producer Organization) for 2018-2019 at the lowest possible costs, to supply aquaculture products for the market according to the schedule and to receive the estimated revenue by increasing the value added of a part of the products and without a negative impact on the environment.
